Welcome to Big Cocks and Broomsticks Hop!

Hello Big Coks and Broomsticks Hoppers!

I am very glad to be back. I have hopped with Close Encounters before and had a great time as I hope you will. Today I would like to share book I of my African Goddess series. I call it Daughters of Mother Earth. Book I is about the goddess of the sun, Takasa and Book II her sister Luneria, goddess of the moon.

Women who have a good man know that you have to go through a lot of bad ones and maybe even some heartache before you get what you want. I figured this was an issue even more so for the powerful women.

Though my goddesses aren’t looking for love when they meet the men who wll become their life mates, they know the love of their life when they meet him. The goddesses are two totally different people wanting different things from the men that pursue them, but they both want to be happy in the end.

I wanted each story to be unique and still have a hint of authenticity so I looked up a lot of African folklore to give my gods and goddesses some realism. I hope you enjoy reading about them as much as I liked writing them.

Takasa, goddess of the sun, left her mountain home consumed with bitterness caused by her long endured loneliness. The elders in her tribe fed her a potion to put her to sleep for a thousand years to wait for the one who would be able to save them from her wrath. Will the goddess have met her match at that time, or will the descendant of a neighboring sun god be conquered by her fury as well?

EXCERPT:
Solarion took her small hands in his strong large ones. Guided by his hands, Takasa’s rested on Solarion’s cheek. The hair there was just as supple on the ones on his chest, covering most of his face. She traced the fullness of his sensual lips. Hanging on both sides of his face were long dark braids. Without thinking, Takasa fingered the few braids that lay on his broad shoulders. Against her better judgment, she looked into his face, meeting the golden brown eyes that smiled at her. The touch of him and the sight of his beautiful eyes seemed to ease her anger.

“All that you see is for you, my goddess. I offer you all I have and am. My mind, my body, and anything else you want or need from me already belong to you.”

He seemed to be waiting for a reply, but Takasa could give none. She was stunned by his words. Solarion lifted her gown over her head without hesitation, and his eyes feasted on her nakedness and he smiled.

“The goddess of the sun is equally beautiful in face and in body,” he stated.

In a slow motion, his hands skimmed over her heating skin. Her shoulders, arms, waist, and belly were left tingling by his tender touch. Takasa closed her eyes to further enjoy the sensations coursing through her body.

“Let me worship this beautiful body of yours so that you can take your rest in my arms. You will rule your people by day, and I will rule you at night, worshipping your body with my own. Each night you will sleep in my arms, exhausted from the love I will show your body.”

Takasa’s eyes popped open. Anger flowed through her like rushing water. As Solarion brought his mouth to hers she shoved him back with all her might.

“How dare you! What makes you think you can rule over me? I will not allow it,” she yelled. “For such insolence you will be punished.”

Takasa called forth her power, but found she was unable to grow to her monstrous size within the confines of the cave. Breathing hard with her eyes darting around, she shifted her head into that of a lioness, and the soft, dainty hands that had caressed Solarion’s face and chest were now sharp lion’s claws.

Solarion watched her change, and when she had done so, Takasa stood before Solarion, waiting for fear to appear on his handsome features. He didn’t seem impressed or fearful. He turned his back to her when the transformation was complete. Flabbergasted, she ran around him to face him again.

“You dare turn your back to me?” she growled.

Before he could answer her angry question, she launched herself at him. Anticipating her pounce, Solarion sidestepped out of the way. Takasa landed on her face on the floor before him, yelping in pain. He approached to help her, but she snatched her paw away. Scooting away from him, Takasa crouched low on all fours, preparing another attack. She roared her fury and initiated her strike. Once more Solarion moved out of the line of fire. Before she could get her bearings, she leaped into another unsuccessful attack.

“Takasa, cease your attack on me. I do not wish to restrain you,” he said in the same calming voice.

“Restrain me?” she shrieked in disbelief.

His soothing words infuriated her even more, like fire to her temper’s short fuse. Her ebony eyes flashed and she lunged forward, only to miss him again. Her fury was beyond compare. Landing face down on the bed, breathing hard, Takasa banged her paws at her sides, screaming her frustration.

She jumped to her feet, readying herself for her next attack, and then sat back down with a gasp. Solarion turned and moved toward her. As he did so, his own change began. The braids she had fingered just moments ago had become a full grown mane and his hands, massive lion’s paws. By the time he stood before her, Solarion had the head of the king of beasts and his golden eyes flashed like bright flames.

Takasa recovered from her surprise and growled again, but it was drowned out by the roar from the jungle king. She stood, thinking to charge him again, but Solarion caught her paws in his and pushed her backward. When she fell onto the bed, he pounced on top of her, pinning her in place. Stunned anew when the wind was knocked from her lungs, Takasa choked and gasped for air. She stared into his blazing eyes for a long time. When the quick rise and fall of her chest slowed, her beautiful goddess features returned.

“How...how is this possible?”

Welcome to the First Kiss Blog Hop!

Hi everyone!

Welcome to my blog! In case you don't know I am Dana Littlejohn, author of sensual romance. I’m glad to be a part of Personalized Marketing’s first blog hop. First I will tell you about my own first kiss then I will show you a first kiss from one of my books.

I think I was about 13. Other girls my age been experimenting with kissing. Since they had already been visited by Mother Nature their developed bodies made their search for willing test subjects much easier than my own. Being the late bloomer that I was, I didn’t have as much luck. My kiss came from a friend, Robert. He was on the weird awkward scale as well so we decided to practice on each other.

Robert said he watched his older brother’s plenty of times and knew just what to do. So, following his lead we went to the park, climb the bleaches at the softball field and sat very close. He slid his hands across my cheeks then widened his fingers to grip the back of my head drawing me in. My breath caught. He stared right into my eyes. I couldn’t close them. My heart was racing. I was stuck, hypnotized, afraid of messing anything. I wanted to remember the moment for the rest of my life.

The moment our lips touched I exhaled. They were soft and warm. In a split second the moment changed from exciting to disgusting. Robert sucked my lips into his mouth like they were spaghetti noodles. His tongue lapped noisily across my mouth and cheeks. He continued to hold me in place while he slobbered on my face. I had to beat his chest and arms before he finally released me. I stomped away wiping my face swearing I would never do it again. My first kiss was not only messy it freaked me out for years! I was almost 17 before I let someone talk me into it again. Thankfully it was much better that time or I don’t know what I would have done.

Now here is the first kiss between Lord Charles DeWitt and Angel from Charles’ Goddess.

Goddess Herophile is set for punishment by Zeus for misusing the powers given to her from her father, Poseidon, causing precious humans harm and distress. Aphrodite, her mother, and the Erotes, her brothers, only have one chance to save Herophile from further harm once Zeus carries out his sentence. Will it be enough time to enhance Aphrodite’s dormant gifts and make Herophile’s future better than her present?

Excerpt:
“You are by far the loveliest, most alluring woman I have ever seen,” he expressed in an amazed tone. He scoffed then shook his head as he left his seat to pace the floor. “I confess I did not know what to expect. For many years I have sated my lust on beautiful females, never limiting myself to a particular type, per se. Thus, I had no idea of the attributes the woman sent to me would have.”
Angel watched the man curiously as he moved back and forth babbling, mostly to himself rather than to her.
“Then,” he said, thrusting his finger into the air. “On wisdom not my own, I left it to the gods to choose who was best for me.” He stopped then turned an appreciative eye to her. “And, bless my soul, I am truly pleased with their choice,” he concluded with a triumphant smile.
The man stood at the foot of the bed looking at her as if waiting for her to comment. Angel stared at him, her head tilted and eyes narrowed in confusion.
“Who are you? And what are you doing in my chamber?”
Obvious confusion twisted his features. “Excuse me? I beg to differ, Madam, but you are in my bedroom.”
Angel’s eyes widened at his accusation. She looked around taking in her surroundings for the first time and realized she was in a male oriented bedroom. Simple but elegant design decorated in soft browns and dark green colors. The bed was large with four intricately detailed posts. No curtains hung from the overhead connecting poles. The only other furniture in the room was a side chest of drawers, a table holding one glass and a decanter of dark liquor sitting before a huge fire place and a comfortable chair at the foot of the bed.
He was right! This wasn’t a dream at all. She no longer resided under the sea and her powers were banished
“Where am I?” she finally asked.
“You are at Arlington Hall.”
Her brows furrowed. “How did I get here?”
“My groomers found you in the barn last night. They didn’t know what to do so they consulted my valet. William instructed them to bring you here. Don’t you remember any of this?”
Angel didn’t answer his question. She searched her mind for any memories of the occasion before the one he spoke of. To her dismay she realized she had been unceremoniously dropped off to make her way as an Earthly being with no idea what to do. She needed time to think.
“What’s your name?” the man asked breaking into her thoughts. “I am Lord Charles DeWitt,” he offered, giving her a slight bow.
“My name is Angel,” she answered, bringing her gaze back to him.
Charles smiled at her. “Indeed you are. I’m very pleased to meet you, Angel.”
“Thank you. You may go now.”
Charles blinked blankly. “I beg your pardon.”
“I said you can leave.”
Charles shifted from one foot to the other and held onto one of the bed’s posts. “I’m sorry, are you suggesting that I leave my own bedroom?” he asked with a partial laugh.
“That’s exactly what I’m saying.”
“Why would I do that? You were brought here because you are my match,” he told her. “You are the perfect woman for me.”
Angel stared at him.
“At first I didn’t think it would happen either,” he continued, “but the fact that you’re here, especially under such unorthodox circumstances, cannot be denied.”
Angel noticed the lustful look in Charles’s eyes as he stared at her. She had seen the look before in a mortal man. Over the years Angel dallied with countless amounts of sailors taking them down to her cave, keeping them for days—sometimes weeks—before releasing them. Many times she went onto land looking for men to play her sexual games. Mostly she appeared in their rooms at night and pretended to be a dream so she could have her way with them, but there were times when she changed herself into a mermaid to lure them into the water as well. When Angel visited Mount Olympus with her mother they discussed their individual experiences with men over food and drink.
Although Angel enjoyed every encounter she shared with a human being, not once had she considered taking one as a life mate. Being with one of the gods in that manner was a far better occurrence. She enjoyed Adonis’s physical attentions most and wanted to take him as a lover when she finished with having fun. A pit formed in her stomach as her mind grasped the life she once knew was now over.
Angel turned her gaze to the man at the foot of the bed. He watched her expectantly. His masculine features were unmarred by hair with high cheek bones and sensually curved lips. His expressive very appealing brown eyes focused on her.
Angel closed her eyes to them and turned away. Zeus intended for her to find her own way as a mortal. She did not know this Lord Charles DeWitt. Her mother mentioned how close Zeus was to his humans. Angel did not wish to get caught up in something she had no business doing again. She had no intentions on disobeying him again.
“I am not the woman you seek. My being here is merely a coincidence.”
“I was told that your beauty will never fade in my eyes. Looking at you I have no doubt it will be like that for me.” He paused. His rich brown eyes warmed her with sincerity as he searched her face. “There is something else… Something about you…calls to me. I know it’s you,” he added.
His long legs brought him to her in just two strides. He gripped her shoulders and pulled her up into his embrace. The scent of him hung around her, a soft spicy smell teasing her senses. He pressed his lips to hers in an abrupt kiss. The connection electrified her, intense and extremely pleasurable. Her body begged to indulge in it more, but her mind yelled for caution.
“Are you one of those men that like to take advantage of women?” she asked when he let her go.
The duke was taken aback. “What? No! Of course not,” he huffed.
Releasing her arms he took a step back. The space allowed her to concentrate without the distraction of his sensual aura surrounding her.
“I would never—”
“Then what gave you the impression that I had any interest in kissing you?”
He visibly took a long controlled breath. “Madame, you have me all wrong. I merely thought that—“
Angel opened the space between them more. “That what? I would be one of those women who would fall at your feet just like that?” she challenged, wrapping her arms around her chest. “You’re very handsome, Lord Charles DeWitt. I’m sure you have plenty of women who do that, but be assured I am not one of them. I have other business to attend to that does not include dallying with you.”
Angel walked away leaving the duke befuddled and his jaw agape. His face turned so red, when she swung the door open she thought he would explode. Angel half expected him to grab her and shake her until she was too dizzy to stand. He walked by staring at her with narrowed eyes, but didn’t say a word. She shut the door behind him leaning on it as the tears she had been fighting finally fell.

Charles stalked down the hall. Turning into his study, he slammed the door behind him.
“Damnation!”
He stood before the window with his arms tight around his chest. A soft knock at the door moments later was answered with a bark.
“Come!”
“May I offer my assistance, sir?” William’s soothing voice inquired behind him.
Charles spun his fist tight at his sides. “That is the most insufferable woman I have ever met, William. Surely the gods are playing a cruel joke on me to say that she is my match!” he thundered.
William gave Charles a knowing smile. “She is very…unique in many ways, my lord.”
Charles’ eyes gaped in amazement. “Unique? You use the term too loosely, old friend.” He pointed at the door. “That woman is arrogant, rude and much too plain spoken for any woman!” he corrected. “Do you know she had the gall to dismiss me from my own bedroom!”

Welcome to the Loving Day Hop!

Hello Followers!
For those who don’t know, I am Dana Littlejohn, author of sensual romance. Many have asked me why I write interracial romance. My answer is always the same. I write what I know. I grew up in New York City. Not too much is taboo there. It was no big deal that a couple was interracial. It wasn’t until I left NYC that I even noticed other people had issue with interracial couples.

I always thought anyone of age was up for grabs. I never limited my choice of man to my own race. Why would I want to short change myself like that? There are wonderful and fine looking men in all races. When one is looking for someone to spend the rest of their life with, I believe they should explore all their options.

In my books, the main female character is always African American, but the male lead’s race has been African American, Asian, Puerto Rican and Caucasian. Like me, my character are not limited to a particular race when it comes to love. She is open to dating men of any race. It isn’t his race that she is drawn to nor does it keep her with him.

The traits that I looked for and that my characters seek in their men—smart, kind, handsome, funny, caring, romantic—can be found in men of all races. Thus, why not search for that special man in all the races available to you when the opportunity arises?

When I was a kid I wasn’t exactly what you would call the girly type. I had my own way of dressing and doing things. My parents didn’t judge, correct or condemn. As long as my room was clean and my homework was done they let me do me. My cousins, older and very girly, told me boys wouldn’t like me because I was too weird. I, of course, didn’t think I was weird I was just me. My father told me there was someone for everyone. When I got older there would be a man that would think that my particular type of weird would be my best feature. And he was right!

My husband and I have been together for 18 years. I am still my weird self, doing things and dressing outside of what most may consider “normal” and he has indeed said that is my best quality. He did not choose me for my race, but because something about me was different from everyone else.
I figured I couldn’t be the only one who grew up like that. So I decided to make a character that had a similar problem. Though it is hard to say I have a favorite book that I have written, this one that is close to my heart. I would like to share with you. There really is someone for everyone and it is not based on race.
